Where? Somewhere outside Triest
This year LC Graz was invited to join the New Year's and Transition Party of LC Triest, and LC Graz answered the call. So a small delegation formed by Birgit, Dan, Karoline, Roland, Rainer and Bernhard went to the beautiful city in the North of Italy.
After a three hours odyssey across the Slovenian highways they reached Triest, still having enough energy to go right into sightseeing on a town walk guided by Stephan Kropf. Our delegates were immediately enchanted by the flair and spirit of history delivered by the classic architecture of the city and the delicious gelato.
Unfortunately the sea was too cold on that day, so our delegates didn't go for a swim but headed directly to the nearest café which had a magnificent view on the seaside.
Eventually, there was the party which took place in an alumni's weekend residence with a great barbecue, plenty to drink, and most important the lovely people of LC Triest. As a sign of gratitude for the invitation Rainer handed over the EM Trophy for the best New Year's Party and and Austrian flag as a souvenir for the visit.
Finally, after partying until the early morning our delegates closed the evening by sleeping under the starry evening sky. In the early morning they headed back to Graz and arrived just in time to welcome Derek and Lukasz from Poland.
Once again thank you to LC Triest for inviting us and for the great party. We are looking forward to returning the favour.
